There are a lot of photographers who can take beautiful photos.
I didn’t start Fielding Photo because I wanted to own a camera or create a business. I started it because I wanted to help people remember.
As life has unfolded, I’ve realized something that has changed the way I see every session: the moments we think are ordinary are often the ones we miss the most. The bedtime snuggles. The messy toddler curls. The tiny fingers wrapped around yours. The way your baby looks at you when they know they’re safe. The laugh your spouse gives when no one else is paying attention.
Those moments don’t ask for our attention while we’re living them. They quietly become memories before we even realize they’re gone.
Working as an operating room nurse has given me a unique perspective on life. Every shift reminds me that life is incredibly precious, incredibly fragile, and never something we should take for granted. It has made me appreciate the ordinary days in a way I never did before- then I became a mom.
AND BOY, Motherhood changed everything! I finally understood why parents take hundreds of photos of tiny hands and sleepy smiles. I found myself wanting to freeze every stage because I realized just how quickly they disappear.
One day your baby fits perfectly in your arms, then they’re crawling, trying to walk, then they take off running. Somehow you’re wondering where the time went- I guess I blinked when everyone told me not to...That’s when I realized photography isn’t really about creating perfect pictures- It’s about holding onto a feeling.
When I created Fielding Photo, I cared far less about perfectly posed smiles than I do about genuine connection. I want your children to be themselves. I want you to laugh together, snuggle together, chase your toddlers through a field, and forget there’s a camera nearby.
Years from now, I don’t want you to remember the awkward pose- I want you to remember how your daughter reached for your hand, how your son couldn’t stop giggling, how your newborn fit against your chest and how this season of life felt.
Whether I’m photographing a growing family, welcoming a brand-new baby, celebrating an engagement, documenting a wedding day, or preserving another meaningful milestone, I never forget that these photographs become part of your family’s story.
They’re the images your children will one day look through- The ones hanging on your walls. The albums pulled out during holidays. The photographs that will be treasured long after the moment itself has passed.
That responsibility is something I don’t take lightly.
When you invite me into your life, you’re trusting me with memories that can never be recreated. It’s an incredible honor, and one I’m grateful for every single time I pick up my camera.
My hope is that when you receive your gallery, you don’t just see beautiful images. I hope you see YOUR life, YOUR loves, YOUR people- Exactly as they are in THIS season.
